src=\"https:\/\/www.ficanex.ca\/Ficanex\/media\/Ficanex\/Newsletter%20PDF\/ex-accel.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>As the end of another successful year fast approaches we would like to highlight October year to date cardholder transaction volumes both in Canada and south of the border and the unique value we brought to Canadian Exchange cardholders as well as our Financial Institution network Participants:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As of October 31st, Canadian Exchange cardholders performed\u00a0<strong>7,318,039<\/strong>\u00a0Exchange transactions, of which\u00a0<strong>5,191,377<\/strong>\u00a0were withdrawal transactions saving Exchange cardholders approximately\u00a0<strong>$15.5<\/strong>\u00a0million dollars in surcharge fees and saving our Financial Institution Participants approximately\u00a0<strong>$1.5 million<\/strong>\u00a0in interchange as our interchange fees are lower than Interac.<\/li>\n<li>As of October 31st, Exchange cardholders performed\u00a0<strong>1,156,034 Accel\u00ae<\/strong>\u00a0Point of Sale transactions south of the border, earning our Financial Institutions approximately\u00a0<strong>$288,000<\/strong>\u00a0in interchange revenue. Canadian Exchange cardholders performed<strong>\u00a0408,910 Accel\u00ae<\/strong>\u00a0ATM transactions.<\/li>\n<li>As of October 31st, Exchange Network Financial Institution ATM Acquirers earned over<strong>\u00a0$4.6 million<\/strong>\u00a0in interchange revenue; helping offset the cost of ATM ownership.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ficanex.ca\/Ficanex\/media\/Ficanex\/Newsletter%20PDF\/firstnations.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On September 28th, 2015 we welcomed our newest Member,\u00a0<strong>First Nations Bank of Canada<\/strong>, to\u00a0<strong>THE EXCHANGE\u00ae<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Accel\u00ae<\/strong>\u00a0networks. The bank will bring\u00a0<strong>9,500<\/strong>\u00a0cardholders and\u00a0<strong>8<\/strong>\u00a0deposit taking ATMs, available to all Exchange cardholders, located in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec and the three territories.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to\u00a0<strong>First Nations Bank of Canada, THE EXCHANGE\u00ae Network<\/strong>\u00a0will be in all 3 territories in addition to every province of our country, making our surcharge-free network span coast to coast to coast!<\/p>\n<p><strong>First Nations Bank of Canada\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0network implementation is targeted for January 2016. Once completed, the ATMs will be published in our ATM database and reflected on our website and application search engines.<br \/>\n<strong><em>Welcome aboard First Nations Bank of Canada!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>RENEWED COMMITMENT TO THE NETWORK<\/h3>\n<p>Over the last few months\u00a0<strong>BC Credit Unions, National Bank<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>HSBC<\/strong>\u00a0renewed their commitment to and membership in THE\u00a0<strong>EXCHANGE\u00ae Network<\/strong>; reinforcing the important role our unique network plays in providing superior service to cardholders. These two Financial Institutions, like many others, have opted to brand our mobile applications to further reinforce their individual brands as their members download and use these critical applications.<\/p>\n<p>With new features recently added to our ATM Locator Applications Participants with\u00a0<strong>branded applications<\/strong>\u00a0can now add\u00a0<strong>custom advertising<\/strong>, specific to their financial institution, further promoting their products and services. Ukrainian Credit Union<\/strong>\u00a0was thrilled with the news that our surcharge-free network was expanding with the addition of\u00a0<strong>830 ATMs in select Mac`s, Couche Tard and Circle K convenience stores<\/strong>\u00a0across Canada making\u00a0<strong>THE EXCHANGE\u00ae Network<\/strong>\u00a0the 2nd largest financial institution ATM network in the country! To get the message out they designed\u00a0<strong>ATM decals<\/strong>\u00a0that are proudly displayed on each ATM so that anyone using the ATM knows that Ukrainian Credit Union members\u2019 have access to over 3,300 surcharge-free Exchange ATMs in Canada. They also use these decals at Member Service Representative stations to raise awareness to members who are in branch. In October Exchange cardholders performed over<strong>\u00a032,000<\/strong>\u00a0net new transactions at these ATMs savings Exchange cardholders approximately\u00a0<strong>$96,000<\/strong>\u00a0in surcharge fees and saving card Issuer Financial Institutions<strong>\u00a0$9,600<\/strong>\u00a0in interchange as\u00a0<strong>THE EXCHANGE\u00ae Network\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0interchange rate is lower than that of other Canadian ATM debit networks.<\/p>\n<p>We expect that the annualized net new transaction volumes at these ATMs will be approximately\u00a0<strong>500,000<\/strong>, saving Exchange cardholders approximately\u00a0<strong>$1.5 million<\/strong>\u00a0in surcharge fees and saving Member Issuer Financial Institutions\u00a0<strong>$150,000<\/strong>\u00a0in interchange expense.
