Angela Brown (Chair)

Angela Brown was most recently the Head of Brand Engagement & Storytelling with First West Credit Union. Angela’s areas of expertise including marketing, branding, community investment, communications and public relations, along with branch strategy and design. She pioneered First West’s signature cause programs, centered around supporting local food banks, and to date, they have raised over $4 million to help the cause around the province.

She is passionate about storytelling and using data to power compelling creative and marketing. Based in the Okanagan Valley, Angela was in the Credit Union system for 12 years, previously having worked in the insurance business in various sales & marketing roles with a private broker as well as the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia. Prior to her work in the financial services and insurance industries, Angela cut her journalistic teeth in the newsroom as a reporter. She’s been involved in marketing, communications and PR for over 30 years.

When not at work or volunteering her time and expertise in the community, she and her husband Randy enjoy travelling, exploring the Okanagan by boat and playing the occasional game of fairly bad golf.

Dave Schurman

In the financial services field for 40 years, Dave has held a variety of executive leadership roles. Dave has been on the chief executive team at FirstOntario Credit Union for the past 14 years, currently its Chief Strategy Officer. Previous roles were Chief Operating Officer, Chief Risk Officer, and Chief Executive Officer of a newly created Corporate Investment Division managing $200 million in alternative investments. Dave has US financial services experience having served on the executive team at CUNA Mutual Group, based in Madison Wisconsin. Dave served on an international team with the Jamaican Credit Union League, constructing & implementing a new strategic plan for the Jamaican credit union system. With the CUMIS Group in Canada Dave held roles of Regional Vice President Atlantic Canada based in Halifax , Regional Vice President Western Canada based in Vancouver, and National Vice President.

Dave has extensive board experience in the credit union system, regional Co-op Association boards, served on the executive committee of the Ontario Credit Union Foundation and was recently honored as an inductee into the OCUF’s Wall of Fame.  Dave’s current board roles include chair of the Ontario Insurance Advisory Board, Director of Ficanex, and the Credit Union National Credit Card Program’s Advisory Committee.

Jamie McLeod

Jamie McLeod has had the privilege of growing and developing throughout her career in a variety of roles with increasing responsibility in the areas of Information Technology, Project Development and Operations. Her experience encompasses project and portfolio management, strategic planning, risk management, vendor management, resource utilization, revenue growth, and cost reduction. Her ability to analyze needs and create unique solutions designed to yield a profitable outcome has proven to be one of her greatest assets.

Jamie has proven to be an engaged leader successfully leading credit unions through significant change including; multiple technology upgrades, several product and service developments, numerous process improvement initiatives, merger integration and banking system conversion. Her strengths lie in her ability to conceive and implement strategic plans and negotiate strategic partnerships to drive new delivery channel initiatives.

Supreet Warna

Supreet Warna is currently the Chief Administrative Officer for Retail Banking and Wealth Management for HSBC.  As a senior leader, she oversees many diverse teams that support the retail and wealth business. Her mandate includes Channel Optimization across ATM, Branch, Digital, Contact Center, and Remote Channels.  She also leads advanced analytics, data and information management, customer relationship management, business management and sales effectiveness. Supreet is known for her strategic vision, leading teams to overcome business challenges, and strong execution strength.

In addition to Supreet’s role as Chief Administrative Officer, she also serves as a Director on three subsidiary boards for HSBC.  Two of these boards oversee businesses with a high degrees of complexity and regulatory oversight. She is also passionate about Diversity and Inclusion and have held leadership positions in many diversity affiliation groups. In 2018, Supreet received a “Woman In Focus” award by the Times of Canada magazine for her efforts.

Bill Maurin

Bill Maurin served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Meridian Credit Union. Under his leadership, Meridian grew its consolidated assets under management from $10 billion to over $25 billion, expanded its digital banking offering, and increased its branch footprint by almost 50 per cent.

Bill focused on developing and executing growth oriented strategies during his tenure with Meridian, with a focus on delivering Meridian’s unique brand of co-operative banking with a strong emphasis on providing quality service and innovative financial solutions while strengthening the communities it serves. Bill led Meridian’s amalgamation with Desjardins Credit Union in 2011 and Meridian’s acquisition of Roynat Lease Finance in 2016. Bill also spearheaded the creation and development of Motusbank, a full service national digital retail bank, launched in 2019.

With more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, Bill began his career at KPMG Chartered Accountants and then progressed through a variety of Financial leadership roles at The CUMIS Group and served as Chief Financial Officer of Meridian prior to assuming the Chief Executive Officer role.

Bill has served as a director in various financial services and trade organizations and currently serves as Trustee for Brock University and as a director for Prodigy Ventures.

Paul Paruch

As Vice President of Digital and Payments, Paul is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team at Atlantic Central and League Savings and Mortgage Company. He has 30 years of experience in the credit union system, with almost 20 years in senior leadership roles. Paul co-led the creation of the National Credit Card Program, which facilitated the National Credit Union system’s exit from TD Bank for credit card services. Paul is currently the co-chair of the Central 1 Payments Modernization Advisory Council and serves on the board of directors of Credit Union Central of Canada (CUCC).

Chris Inniss

Chris Inniss joined Mainstreet Credit Union in September 2021 as President & CEO; however, Chris has spent a number of years within the credit union sector, and several more years working in the financial services industry. Chris has also recently completed his EMBA at Ivey with Ivey Scholar distinction, where he particularly excelled at corporate strategy.

Through his experiences and education, Chris has become a transformational leader in the Credit Union industry with a proven record of success. A charismatic culture builder and big-picture thinker, Chris leads by example, fostering open communication and mentorship to empower his team to achieve the vision. With drive and ambition, Chris is confident, persuasive, and willing to jump into challenges and take risks himself. His collaborative leadership style gives his team the freedom and confidence to do their best work.

Chris also has extensive board and committee experience, serving on the National Credit Union Young Leaders Committee, Business Advisory Centre Durham, Regional Food Distribution Association, Back Door Mission for the Relief of Poverty, and more recently, serving on the board for the Ontario Credit Union Foundation and now as a Director of FICANEX Services.

Christina Mullin

Christina Mullin is currently VP, Digital & Alternative Channels at Canadian Western Bank (CWB) where she is responsible for strategy, innovation, and end to end experience across all digital banking channels. In addition to leading Digital, she has oversight for 3 client and operational support teams, including Motive Financial Services (a subsidiary of CWB), Employee Financial Services and a newly created Small Business contact centre.

Prior to this, Christina was Head of Digital Commercial Banking at CIBC overseeing small business, commercial and corporate digital services.  As part of this role, she successfully led the implementation and development of a several features and upgrades across various platforms, including launching an innovative Small Business Banking platform focused on meeting the unique needs of Small Business owners in Canada.

With over 20 years of Financial Services experience, Christina has demonstrated success with both leading and acting as a collaborative partner for multiple large strategic programs at each of CWB, CIBC and Scotiabank.  Throughout each of her roles, she is known for pursuing unparalleled client experience, delivering excellence to partners and key stakeholders, and building strong relationships through her collaborative approach.
